As a clinical psychologist working with children, teens and their parents, I work to help kids and parents understand the TRUE risks and concerns when it comes to the internet and technology. My goal is to bridge the technology gap between kids and their parents.

I firmly agree that parents (such as myself) have concerns regarding their child's safety while online. I feel as if parents should be monitoring their child's activities on the computer; know what sites they are accessing, place parental controls on the computer and limit the amount of time you permit your child(ren) to spend on the computer in the first place. If you are present while your child is online then it will be easier to have a grasp of the amount of time they are online.
For the parents who are not always home when their kids are, what suggestions do you have, Dr. Fred, for maintaining control of your child's activities?
Thanks for your relevant and valuable information!
